Hotel Qualido

October, a desert trail and fresh wind, good smell of musk and autumn, in the distance the huge Qualido wall sparkled in the sun.

October, a desert trail and fresh wind
good smell of musk and autumn
in the distance the huge Qualido wall sparkled in the sun
I was tired, my legs were tired
I had to stop for the night

Everything was still and quiet
and I was thinking to myself
“this could be heaven or this could be hell”
I walked into the cave and my eyes became accustomed to the darkness
there were noises and voices that outside not heard
I thought I heard them say…

Welcome to the Hotel Qualido
such a lovely place
such a lovely nature
there’re many things to do at Hotel Qualido
here in every seasons everything changes

The Qualido wall observing me in a perverse way
with its lines and corners
I was slowly forgetting where I was

I was thirsty but I had no water
and I didn’t want to go to look for it
and I kept hearing noises and voices
I woke up in the middle of the night
just to hear them say

Welcome to the Hotel Qualido
such a lovely place
such a lovely nature
the nature and the animals livin’ it up outside the Hotel Qualido
please excuse us

Drop cloths and mats on the ceiling
empty bottles near the fire
I felt prisoner
and I thought that I would no longer be able to leave

Last thing I remember
I was running for the door
I had find the trail back to the valley I was before
but it was night and I couldn’t get away so easily
“Relax” said me the nocturnal animals
“we are kind and friendly with who is kind and polite
you can check out any time you like
but you can never leave!”.

Post inspired by an encounter with Matteo, a seeker of alternative mushrooms, and an autumn hike at the Hotel Qualido, with the song “Hotel California” by Eagles, in my mind.
