Poira of Civo, reaching by car in about 15 minutes. Good parking area close to a small church.
From the parking area follow the signs to Ledino (you have the football field on your left). The trail follows a dirt road leading to the holiday farm (read “Agriturismo”) “Cascina da Piero” (30 minutes). The trail continues climbing through the forest until crosses the firebreak of Costiera dei Cech.
Climb again to Pesc, 1616 m.
From here the trail climbs steadily the Toate Valley (not clear at the beginning) leading to a fountain. Continue on the right. Before long you’ll reach the eastern Colino Pass, 2412 m.
From the parking area to the Pass, 4 h.
The trail descends gently to Valle di Spluga crossing left for a long time and reaching the Laghi di Spluga.
In truth this is the second group of lakes, to reach the main lake climb toward Primalpe Pass, 5/6 h.
Walking the long Valley of Spluga. In the first part, the trail is not well marked, better the second part.
The descent gains about 1500 m., consider about 3 h.
Reached the village of Cevo you’ll come back to Poira of Civo with a second car or walking on the paved road (very long distance – not recommended).
